he Indian car industry has certainly come a long way - from the time when only a few cars adorned the Indian roads and customers did not have much of a choice to a time where car makers are competing fiercely to launch new models in the country.

'Survival of the fittest' is the mantra here; if a car fails to impress customers, it is either chucked out or given a makeover.

Here's a list of cars that will be shelved from the country soon.

The company did try to lift the sales of the ageing sedan by giving it a makeover last year (though it was a soft facelift).

Currently, only the petrol engine is on offer as the diesel engine was killed some time back.

The numbers tell a dismal story; only 182 units of Hyundai Accent sedan were sold in India in July.

This clearly indicates that the sedan has reached the last phase of its life cycle. The company, however, has not confirmed the move till date.

Honda, however, has not made any official announcement regarding taking Civic off the shelf but the fact that Honda has stopped the import of Completely Knocked Down kits of the model points towards the same direction.
