The competition between the diesel engines is closer than you might think. The 1.5L Mobilio engine makes 98.6bhp, while the Innova is only marginally higher at 100.6bhp, a difference of 1.4 horsepower, as-near-as makes no difference.
The torque figures are identical, with both engines churning out 200Nm, giving the Honda Mobilio a significant cost advantage.

The petrol Innova has a mileage of 12.5kmpl, with the Mobilio’s i-VTEC petrol engine being more economical at a claimed mileage of 17.3kmpl.
A similar story ensues when we look at the diesel versions, with the Innova returning 13.5 kmpl while the most frugal workhorse in the country - i-DTEC in the Mobilio returning an astonishing 24.2kmpl, giving the Honda a significant advantage in terms of mileage. However, real world statistics are yet to be seen.

The Honda Mobilio comes with a sportier 3-spoke steering wheel while the Innova comes with a bigger four spoke wheel.
In Innova, there is a slight bulge between the front and middle seats to accommodate the prop shaft underneath, which the Honda avoids, being a front-wheel-drive car making the led room comfortable.
The seats have a thinner profile in the Honda, making the interiors feeling airy and spaced out, even though the Mobilio is smaller than the Innova. On the other hand Innova offers plusher interiors design compared to Mobilio.

The Toyota and Honda share a host of features, but the only significant difference being the lack of automatic air conditioning in any model Mobilio, even the top models receive a manual AC unit.
The higher models in Innova all come with parking sensors/ rear camera, which the Mobilio misses out too.
However, the Mobilio does come with a RS flavour, which has a projector headlamp assembly, day-time-running-LEDs, missing in the Innova.
Overall, the Innova’s features trump the Mobilio but Mobilio RS diesel gives Innova a modest tiff.
