GM India to debut Maruti Ertiga's competitor Chevrolet Enjoy in May

GM India is expected to launch its Chevrolet Enjoy MPV somewhere in May, and the company has started its pre-launch campaign by releasing official images.

Following the Sail twins, the Enjoy is the third vehicle in India that is being brought from GM-SAIC joint venture in China. The car is expected to have a starting price tag of Rs 700,000.

In its original avatar on the other side of Himalayas, the compact MPV calls itself as Wuling Hongguang.

The seven-seat people mover is hoping to make a case for itself in the mini MPV segment, which was inaugurated and dominated by the Maruti Ertiga.

While the pricing is expected to undercut the Toyota Innova by a sizable margin, Mr. Lowell Paddock, president and MD of GM India told us earlier that the legroom at the rear most row of seats will be better than the segment king.

The car will be available in petrol as well as diesel variants.

Chevrolet Enjoy: Ertiga's competitor to hit roads in May

The Chevrolet Enjoy will be powered by a 1.4-litre petrol or a 1.3-litre diesel engine. The latter is the same as the one, which powers the Maruti Ertiga albeit without a VGT. The petrol motor has 103 bhp on tap while the oil burner offers 76 bhp.

The car is expected to be available in six variants with 3 each in petrol and diesel versions with nomenclatures LS, LT and LTZ.
