America has gained some 2,250 ultra-high-net-worth individuals - classed as those with a net worth of $30 million or more (including all assets) - since last year, according to a report from Wealth-X, a financial consulting firm.
Their combined wealth is also 3.3 per cent higher. The world's richest people have a combined wealth of $25.8 trillion. That's 1.8 per cent less than a year ago, largely because of the euro-area crisis and slowdown in emerging markets.
