Vodafone users can buy iPhone 6 with zero down payment

Vodafone India on Thursday launched tariff plans wherein customers can get calls, SMSes and 3G data bundled with an iPhone starting at Rs 2,099 per month.

Its subscribers can also buy an iPhone 6 with no downpayment. The company said it is offering tariff plans on EMIs, for a period of 24 months, starting at Rs 2,099 for iPhone 4s, Rs 2,499 for 5c, Rs 2,999 for 5s and Rs 3,599 for 6 and 6 plus models.

The monthly EMI includes handset cost, local/STD calls, local/national SMSes and 3G data and applicable taxes and interest.

For latest iPhone 6, zero down payment is required for 8 GB or 16 GB models. For 5s, 5c and 4s models, the downpayment is Rs 4,990, and for 6 Plus, it is Rs 8,490.

"These Vodafone plans offer loads of local/STD minutes, SMS and data that would ensure that customers will not have to pay extra for 24 months for the covered services during the plan period," the company said in a statement.

The devices will be available at Vodafone Stores and leading smartphone retail outlets pan India from January 17.

An 16 GB iPhone 6 under 6K Plan comprising 6000 minutes, 1500 SMS and 6GB of 3G Data plan will be available at an all-inclusive EMI of Rs 3599 per month for a period of 24 months.

Under iPhone 10K Plan, comprising 10,000 minutes, 2,500 SMS and 10 GB of 3G data will be available at an all-inclusive EMI of Rs 3,999/month for a period of 24 months.

The company said the offer is also available with a 12 month EMI option or upfront cash payment.

"We see data as a strong growth driver in the years to come and believe these kind of innovative offers add to our efforts in the growth of this segment," Vodafone India MD and CEO Marten Pieters said.

Vodafone said there is also an introductory additional cash back offer of Rs 3,000 on all models of iPhone 6 Plus and iPhone 5s.
