Modi to launch 'Make in India' campaign on Sep 25

Prime Minister Narendra ModiSeeking to make the country a global manufacturing hub, Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to launch the ambitious 'Make in India' campaign in the presence of global and domestic CEOs on September 25.

Hundreds of global and domestic CEOs are expected to attend the function at Vigyan Bhavan in New Delhi, an official said.

In his maiden independence day address, Modi invited the global business community to set up manufacturing facilities in India, giving the slogan 'come, make in India'.

To make it more successful, the campaign would be simultaneously launched in different state capitals, including Mumbai, Chennai and Bengaluru.

The campaign will also be launched in countries having similar time zone as that of India.

The move is aimed at generating huge employment opportunities in the country besides boosting trade and economic growth.
