Inflation has reached its peak and is expected to ease in the next 6-9-months, ICICI Bank's non-executive chairman, K V Kamath said in Mumbai on Thursday.
"Inflation (9.9 per cent in March ) is at its peak and I think it will ease to 6-8 per cent in the next 6-9-months," Kamath said.
Asked if banks would hike their lending rates following the Reserve Bank raising its short-term key rates, Kamath said it depends upon several issues and each bank would take a call.
"Liquidity is good at present and it (hiking lending rates) would depend on several other issues. Banks will have to take their own decision," Kamath said.
Describing the financial crisis afflicting Greece as a 'localised problem', Kamath said that it would have no significant impact on India.
