August 17, 2011 18:10 IST

Hiring activities in India are expected to remain good in the coming months even as businesses continue to battle high attrition level, which is in the range of 20 to 35 per cent, according to Monster.com.

Sectors such as infrastructure, manufacturing, construction, IT, education and healthcare are anticipated to create more number of employment opportunities, job portal Monster.com's managing director (India/Middle East/Southeast Asia) Sanjay Modi said.

"I am optimistic about hiring activities in the country (in the coming months), especially since business fundamentals are strong," he told PTI.

Noting that hiring activities would be good, Modi said there is clamour for talent among companies, due to increasing gap between demand and supply.

He pointed out that attrition, which is seen across various levels, is a major concern for companies in India.

"Attrition is around 20 to 35 per cent on an annual basis...," he added.

Meanwhile, MonsterIndia.com, which is part of Monster.com, today launched a mobile application -- based on Android platform -- for job aspirants as well as employers.

Further, a new employer/recruiter interface has been also introduced on its WAP portal.

Modi said the company would be looking at introducing new products and services in the coming months.
