Google most attractive employer in India, Sony follows trend

According to the fifth edition of the Randstad Award 2015, while choosing an employer, Indian workforce give the utmost importance to competitive salary and employee benefits, followed by long-term job security.

Google has emerged as the most attractive employer in the country, according to leading human resource consultancy Randstad.

Also, Sony has emerged as the second most attractive employer, the report further adds.

Interestingly, Microsoft India, which topped the list consecutively for the past four years, has been inducted into the 'hall of fame' category this year.

The sector-specific special recognition awards this year has been awarded to Tata Steel for manufacturing, P&G for FMCG and Honda India for automobile verticals.

Besides these firms, some of the other most attractive companies in India include,  Taj Group of Hotels, TCS, Tata Motors, Toyota and Wipro.

Randstad India CEO, Moorthy K Uppaluri said that as Indian economy and job market continues to gain momentum, it is putting pressure on corporate India to retain and attract best talent.

"This is the right time for India Inc to better articulate and strengthen their employer brand to attract, manage and retain the top talent," he said.

According to the fifth edition of the Randstad Award 2015, while choosing an employer, Indian workforce give the utmost importance to competitive salary and employee benefits, followed by long-term job security.

Cognizant Technology Services, Hewlett-Packard, HPCL, IBM, Infosys, L&T, ONGC, Samsung, SBI are other names in the list.  

The top five influencing factors are salary and employee benefits (54 per cent), long-term job security (49 per cent), work-life balance (39 per cent), pleasant working atmosphere (39 per cent) and financial health of the company (38 per cent).

The survey noted that the top three most attractive sectors are IT and Communication (72 per cent), followed by FMCG and retail (68 per cent) and automobile (67 per cent), respectively. Meanwhile, there has been a major shift in how people go ahead with their job search.

The survey noted that 66 per cent of job-seekers use social networking sites. In India, the survey captured views of more than 8,500 respondents. Globally, the research is covered in 23 countries, capturing views of over 225,000 respondents.
