Email this report to a friend

The Andhra Pradesh government will issue a notification on January 31 for the reorganisation of the Andhra Pradesh State Electricity Board.

This was disclosed to the media by Energy Minister Kalidindi Ramachndra Raju in Eluru on Tuesday.

He said the board would be classified into transmission and distribution units. The board officials and personnel would be shifted to different departments of the two units after the issuance of the notification, he added.

While all the sub-stations in the rural areas would be equipped with wireless sets, computerisation would be taken up in the board up to sub-station level, Raju said.

He said as part of the agreement to buy power from Orissa, the transmission line between Jayapur (Orissa) and Gajuwaka (Andhra Pradesh) would start functioning from February 15.
