Sensex up over 50 points at 3260 in Monday morning session

India's premier bourses, the Bombay Stock Exchange and the National Stock Exchange displayed signs of considerable recovery in the Monday morning trading sessions. A host of corporate majors including Reliance are slated to announce the third quarter results today and during the week.

Operators and a few financial institutions are said to be actively buying shares of pivotals and infotech blue chips.

As at 1300 hrs IST, the 30-share BSE Sensex was at 3259.09, up 51.24 points, after opening at 3217.74. It closed at 3207.85 on Friday.

The NSE S&P CNX Nifty was at 940.25, up almost six points.

On the BSE, Bajaj Auto was quoting at Rs 488 (-Rs 4.75), L&T at Rs 182 (+Rs 0.40), ACC at at Rs 1107 (+Rs 0.25), Reliance Rs 133.80 (-Rs 1.00), Hindustan Lever at Rs 1738 (+Rs 59.50), ITC at Rs 814.75 (+Rs 21.50) and State Bank of India at Rs 170.50 (-Rs 0.10).
