Email this report to a friend

Public Sector banks all over the country will observe a two-day strike on February 25 and 26, following the failure of day-long talks between the Indian Bank Association Management Committee and the various bank unions in Bombay today.

According to the IBA sources, all the banks have been informed in this regard that the IBA will be unable to meet the bank employees' demand for salary hike by 18 per cent.

The United Forum of Bank Unions had demanded the hike which they had decreased from their earlier demand of 23 per cent, while the IBA on the other hand, had agreed to a hike of ten per cent from their earlier promise of 9.99 per cent.
