OTCEI moves 183 scrips to demat trade mode

Email this report to a friend

The Over The Counter Exchange of India has launched dematerialised trading in 183 scrips in permitted segment from today.

These 183 scrips include Infosys, ITC, HPCL, Pentafour, Tata Tea, Zee TV, Tisco, HLL and Reliance.

Deepak Dave, the OTCEI's senior managar, said today that both physical shares and dematerialised shares can be delivered against deliveries in the physical segment.

The demat mode of trading is expected to boost the volumes on the exchange as it is a highly transparent and safe mode of securities dealing. The brokers have responded favourably to this development and are hopeful that this step will go a long way in restoring investor confidence, Dave added.
