Thakre denies statement on WTO

Bharatiya Janata Party president Kushabhau Thakre has denied reports that he had suggested India withdraw from the World Trade Organisation.

In a clarification issued from Calcutta today, Thakre said he ''did not say anything like that.''

''Now that the agreement has been signed, coming out of it is difficult because this has its own implications. Therefore, economists and specialists have to think about how we can overcome these impediments,'' the BJP president said.
