New textile policy on anvil

The Bharatiya Janata Party government has decided to set up an expert group under the chairmanship of S R Sathyam to formulate a new textile policy.

The composition and the terms of reference are under finalisation, Textile Minister Kashiram Rana told the Rajya Sabha in a written reply today.

There is no proposal to divest the shares of public sector units under the ministry of textiles including the National Textile Corporation, he said in another reply.
