Trading on the National Stock Exchange was relatively subdued and a marginal improvement in prices of pivotals was witnessed in Bombay today.

The NSE-50 index opened at 1009.50 points, touched the day's high of 1017.55 points, low of 1007.40 points and closed at 1014.10 points showing a net gain of 4.50 as against the previous close of 1009.60 points.

The dollar NSE-50 (Defty) index finished at 895.50 points over the yesterday's close of 892.35 points gaining 3.15 points.

The Midcap index closed at 1131.75 points as compared to last trading day's close of 1127.30 points increased by 4.45 points.

Total turnover on the exchange was Rs 11.7 billion involving 47.1 million shares in 150,568 trades.
