BSE Sensitive Index

Sensex loses 30.65 points

Speculatives suffered further a setback in a listless trading and fagend selling pressure from bull operators at the Bombay Stock Exchange today.

Being the last day settlement at the National Stock Exchange, most of the operators sold heavy-weighted shares to square up their position, which reflected in the share prices at BSE.

Resuming on a weak note, the BSE Sensitive index (30 scrips) opened lower at 3345.18 points, touched day's high of 3351.50, low of 3315.81, before closing at 3317.70 points, showing a net loss of 30.65 points as against the previous close of 3348.35 points.

The BSE-100 National index finished at 1427.92 points losing 13.80 points over yesterday's close of 1441.72 points. The BSE-200 and Dollex indices closed at 317.43 and 136.42 points as compared to last working day's close of 320.32 and 137.70 points respectively.

The marketmen said that the equity prices will fluctuate in the range of 20 to 30 points till the formation of new government at the Centre.

The United states stand on sending troops and ammunition in Iraq has demoralised the sentiment of FIIs from investing in the capital market.

The total turnover on screen-based trading system was Rs 6.4 billion, involving 24.6 million shares. Out of 6914 scrips, a number of total 1508 scrips were traded.
