PSU employees to get 10 pc of basic pay as interim relief

The Centre today decided to allow payment of 10 per cent interim relief of the existing basic pay subject to the condition of minimum Rs 280 per month to employees of central government public sector enterprises with effect from January 1, 1997.

The decision will benefit hundreds of thousands of employees from the 247 public sector units.

An official announcement said the decision was based on the recommendations made by the pay revision committee set up by the government to make recommendations on pay revision for the executives of central public sector enterprises following industrial dearness allowance pattern.
