Gaja Gamini
Maqbool Fida Husain is today considered one of India's finest painters, a man who could do wonders with a palette and brush on a canvas, conjuring up mind-boggling images.

Yet, in recent years, Husain has been in the news for things other than his works of art. It was for his famed obsession with one of India's most beautiful women, the one and only Madhuri Dixit.

Husain became besotted with Madhuri Dixit after he saw her in the super blockbuster Hum Aapke Hain Kaun. Rumours have it that a particular theatre in Bombay kept one seat permanently booked for Husain so that he could see the movie whenever he felt like.

Husain in turn decided to make a movie on the many facets of Indian womanhood. No prizes for guessing that the lead role was played by Madhuri Dixit.

Gaja Gamini   (literally, one who walks like an elephant) is the result of this magnificent obsession.
