Rediff On The Net (www.rediff.com), India’s leading on-line service swept the India Internet Awards ‘98, the first ever awards for cyber-excellence in India held by The Economic Times and Microland, by picking up two prestigious awards. Rediff was voted as the ‘Most Popular Website Of The Year’ and as the ‘Best Designed Website Of The Year’ at a glittering ceremony held in New Delhi on Wednesday 27, 1998.
The prestigious awards were judged by stalwarts in the computer industry like Sabeer Bhatia (Founder & CEO, Hotmail), Mellanie Hills (President, Knowledgies), Crystal Waters (Internet Author & Web Consultant), Saurabh Srivastava (President, NASSCOM), R Gopalakrishnan (Vice Chairman, Hindustan Lever), Pradeep Kar (Chairman & MD, Microland), Arun Arora (CEO, The Economic Times) and Ram N Aggarwal (President, Wipro Peripherals).
