NOn-performing asset

When a bank or finance company lends money and the debtor is not making the required principal repayment and interest payment, the loan is referred to as a non-performing asset.

If the payments are more than 90 days due, a commercial loan is referred to as an NPA and a loan to a retail consumer is referred to as an NPA if it is more than 180 days overdue.
