Enterprise Value

The value of a company. Calculated as market capitalisation (price of shares x the number of shares) plus the total amount of debt minus cash and cash equivalents held by the company.

In other words, it is the theoretical takeover price.
In the event of a buyout, this would be the actual purchase price. The acquirer would have to take on the company's debt, but would pocket its cash.
